Terry Fox Run

We, as humans, always long for the feeling of hope. Hope in anything , whether it is a cure, in love, in a solution of a problem, it is just a part of us to always have and want hope.

What's better than the feeling of helping out others, or being there for the ones you love, or participating in something you may not help or make a HUGE difference in but just participating and knowing that you're there present in that time and place makes you feel like you did a difference.

Every year every since I was 12 I have participated in the Terry Fox Run. For those of you who do not know about the Terry Fox Run, or Terry Fox himself here is the story:
Terry Fox was a Canadian athlete who was diagnosed with Cancer in his knew and was told that he had only 50% chance of survival. So he got an artificial leg and started walking again.
That was when the Marathon of Hope started where he ran to raise money for cancer research.
He wanted to run the length of Canada just to raise awareness, even though he had intense pain, bruises, and blisters he still did it. Despite his treatments Fox passed away in 1981 where his funeral was broadcasted across Canada and that is how he became a legacy.
The man who ran Canada.

What amazes me is not only his story but the event itself is held every year, and every year I do not see one single advertisement, not a commercial about when it will be held. The only thing that is done to raise awareness and let the people know of the event is that the newspapers write about it.
That is it. That is how everybody knows, that is how their calendars is booked and everything is set.

Nothing is better than running for a good cause,
Love,
Sandra
