Anti Smoking Campaigns

on Thursday, 15 August 2013
Our life is a ticking bomb. We do not know when it may end, and we don't know how either, yet live everyday hoping we'll live to the next. If we are not exposed to such deaths then why do we chose to fasten our death, and invite it into our lives.
Personally I do not smoke, never have.Even though everyone around me does I never thought about trying it.  I've always noticed something though, that every packet of cigarettes has a message that smoking is bad for you and has consequences. So why don't people quit? or decrease their intake of cigarettes?
The thing is if you smoke and read or see the anti smoking ad's you will think to yourself 'this will not happen to me'.
Let's talk about what smokers do to themselves before moving on to what damage they do to others.
I do not want to go into medical details saying it will cause you cancer, leukemia heart problems, lung problems shortness of breath or whatever, I'm sure you know better.  However I would like to state some statistics here.
1/3 of the male population smokes
Smoking related diseases kills 1 in 10 adults globally !
Every 8 SECONDS someone dies from tobacco use.
Among teenagers aged between 13 to 15, 1 in 5 smoke
Evidence show that 50% of those who start smoking furing their early years continue to smoke for 15 to 20 years.
Now if you do smoke but do not care about what may happen to you, please care for those breathing the air you smoke.
  Secondhand smoking is responsible for:
Increasing the risk for a heart attack of a nonsmoker
                   Heart disease
                   Lung cancer
Also children are higher risk of getting sick.
Even though these ad's are ignored by smokers they do also cause a change.
Let's take a moment to look at the creativity and extent of reflection of reality in these ad's.
